Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 18. I will then key in on verse 10 - The name of the Lord is a strong tower; I will compliment this by going over Psalm 91: verses 1-4. Mature Christians (those who have known the Lord and walked with Him for a period of time) know that they are safe if they go to the Lord in prayer. They are reassured in their knowledge that they will be taken care of. I will then continue my study on Joseph in the book of Genesis. I will review that in last Thursday's podcast Pharaoh had arranged for Joseph's father, all of his oldest brothers, his youngest brother Benjamin, all of the herds and flocks by allowing them to all live in the land of Goshen (the best land Egypt had to offer.). I will then begin reading in Chapter 47: verses 27-31. I will bring up three points from this passage of scripture: 1. Jacob senses that his time to die is near - (I will emphasize that 17 years have now passed since he has been in Egypt and that the Lord had blessed him with a long life - he is now 147 years old). 2. Joseph makes a vow to Jacob - (many people have their loved ones promise them things prior to their death. They want to make sure that their last wishes will be taken into account and followed; and 3. Jacob demonstrates his father - Jacob remembers that when he was young God had promised him the land of Canaan as an inheritance for his family and the family that would come after him. He wants reassurance from Joseph that he will take his body and his bones back to the land of Canaan and that he will be buried with his ancestors there.
