Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will go over Proverb 8.  I will then key in on verses 32-36.  These verses talk about wisdom and the importance of having it in your life.  I will then go over one of my favorite stories - the story of the Good Samaritan - found only in Luke's gospel.  Before going to Luke, we will go over Mathew's account of this story in Chapter 22:  verses 34-40.  We will then look at Mark's account of this story in Chapter 12:  verses 28-34.  We will then explore the elaboration of this story in Luke's gospel:  Chapter 10:  verses 25-37.  Three things we can learn from this lesson is:  1.  the priest was the first one to encounter the person that had been robbed, beaten, and left for dead - (and yet he immediately went to the other side of the road and "pretended" that he had not seen the injured person;  2.  the Levite was the second person who encountered this person - all of the priests in Israel were from the tribe of Levi - so this person was supposed to be a Holy person (as was the priest).  This person also went to the other side of the road and "pretended" that he had not seen the injured person.  3.  Finally, the Good Samaritan (despised by all of the Israelites) was the one who had compassion on the person who was left to die.  He put him on his donkey, set him up at the local inn, put ointment and bandages on his injuries and paid the innkeeper to take care of him.  Finally, he told him that if there were any future expenses that would be needed for the recovery he would pay for those as well.
