Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 11.  I will then key in on verse 14.  To go along with verse 14, I go over Proverb 27:17.  This verse goes over the importance of having at least one close Godly friend that you can count on whenever you have a need.  You need to have someone that you can share openly with, someone that will be happy to pray with you and over you, etc.  Conversely you need to be careful that you do not seek counsel with people that you know are NOT Godly people - I read Psalm 1 in its entirety.  I then share a very telling story found in 2 Kings Chapter 4: verses 1-6.  This story is about a women who seemed counsel from Elisha, the man of God.  Her husband had just died and she heard that the creditor was going to come and take her two sons away from her to be sold as slaves to cover the cost of the debt that her husband had left her with.  Three lessons we can learn from this brief story is:

1.  It is important to seek counsel (I went over James 5: verses 13-16;  2.  Make yourself available for God to use (What's in your hand?). We all have people in our lives that we can help share the Gospel with;  3.  Reading & meditating on God's word will increase your faith (See Romans 10: verse 17).  This is a story about faith.  How much faith the widow had depended on how many people that she would ask for empty vessels from (a great lesson we can learn)!
