Sometimes, even as we follow the call of the Lord, our greatest success can precede what may feel like our greatest failure. In Joshua chapter seven, we find one of the most sobering stories of failure among God's people in the sin of Achan. Yet even the harsh reality of judgment that Achan brought down holds encouraging lessons for God's people: don't hide your sin, don't bury your blessing, and DO believe that Jesus Christ leads us into better things (Hebrews 10:19-20; 12:24)!
