Description

What would YOU do if the world was overrun by monsters with supersonic hearing? We aren’t really sure (or are we?), but this week we watched A Quiet Place (2018) to find out what the Abbott family did! We also spent a lot of time talking about accessibility in film and how this movie does a good job with it in some regards, but falls short in others. We could not have done this without reading reviews of the film from the Deaf community to get an idea of some of the ways that individuals within the community felt about the film, and we learned a lot along the way! We want to thank the Deaf community for the extensive amount of articles and reviews that we could reference for this episode, and always welcome any feedback regarding any issues that we may have misspoken or misrepresented in any way. We are always happy to do any additional research into issues we need to!
