Description

In this episode of Complete Surrender by Dreya Kayè, I share the final ending of my relationship and marriage; the moment I stopped praying for a man to become someone he never desired to be and started praying for my own heart to be set free. I once believed that if I never ceased in prayer, I could help him grow into a man after God’s own heart.

But I had to face a hard truth: he does not have a desire to serve God. And when a man has no desire to serve the Lord, even a wife’s fervent prayers for his transformation will simply fall. Prayer is powerful, but it does not override someone’s will. If you pray for a man who already desires God; your prayers will be heard and felt in communion with that longing, partnering with what the Holy Spirit is already doing. If he does not, those prayers become a weight you carry alone.

So today, my prayers belong to the Lord Jesus Christ for me: for the supernatural strength to release him, for healing, and for complete surrender. I’m not recounting the whole six-year journey; I’m speaking to the final letting go, the decision to stop contending for what God is asking me to lay down, and to trust that obedience is my pathway to peace.

Scriptures that anchor me in this ending:

- Proverbs 3:5–6 : “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; He will make your paths straight.

- Psalm 34:18 : “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit.

- Isaiah 43:18–19 : “Forget the former things… See, I am doing a new thing!”

- Matthew 11:28–30 : “Jesus invites the weary and burdened to find rest in Him. “

- 1 Peter 5:7 : “I cast all my cares on Him, because He cares for me. “

- Philippians 4:6–7 : “In prayer and thanksgiving, His peace guards my heart and mind.”

- Romans 12:2 : “I’m allowing God to renew my mind and transform my life.”

- Amos 3:3 : “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” A reminder that alignment with God matters in covenant.

- 2 Corinthians 6:14 “A sober call to be yoked with those who share faith and desire for God.”

If you’ve been praying for change in a man who does not desire to serve God, I hope my story gives you clarity and courage. This is my testimony of release and choosing to honor God’s leading over my longing, and finding freedom in surrender. One ending, one act of obedience, one prayer at a time.
