From the torch of the Statue of Liberty, Robert Zemeckis opens his film by shattering the fourth wall. It's the first of many unfortunate decisions the director will make in this retelling of the story many of us first saw in the excellent documentary 'Man On Wire'. Why tamper with remaking a classic story? That's precisely what Andrew and Phil are asking themselves in this episode. Clearly, special effects make it much more visceral to experience Phillippe Petit's legendary high-wire act between the Twin Towers, but everything else about the movie is inferior, from the characterizations to the dramatic tension. For more on the subject, listen to this episode, which Andrew and Phil inexplicably recorded in IMAX.
