Intelligent horror doesn't get much more brooding and merciless than Robert Eggers' 'The Witch.' A former production designer, Eggers has crafted a film that seems to be from the 1630's in it's construction. The dialogue is Puritan - so much so that some viewers were lost as to what was being said throughout the film. The story is about a family that is slowly overtaken by evil. Not unlike how I wish 'Fuller House' would end. Andrew and Phil have kind words for 'The Witch', especially about A24 - the risk-taking distribution company that has given this indie film a wide release.
