Terrence Malick.  Some folks hate him.  Some love him.  At 72 years of age, he still takes chances as a filmmaker.  It just so happens that in this case, he falls short of making a great film.  'Knight of Cups' is an entirely improvised film, and it shows.  The story is ostensibly about a Hollywood screenwriter that lives an aimless life of partying, that takes him from one woman to another.  While Andrew and Phil admire Malick's ambition, both critics agree that 'Knight of Cups' needs a screenplay to give it structure and purpose.  Otherwise, the film is as meaningless as the life the main character leads. And if you think that is the point, listen to this episode and see if you still agree.
