Marvel continues it's stranglehold on popular moviegoing with their fall offering, 'Doctor Strange'.  A story of the mystic arts, this special effects extravaganza succeeds most with the brain-melting visuals and less with prosaic mumbo-jumbo that serves as exposition.  Benedict Cumberbatch is serviceable as Strange, although Andrew pointed that he is the latest crossover British thespian to over-embrace the hard 'r' sound in the American dialect.  Many fine actors appear here but overall the story fails to enthrall, except for the disparate scenes when the mystic arts are clearly shown.
