It is definitely better than PROMETHEUS. That's the consensus among Andrew and Phil in this episode. But we've seen this premise before in nearly every other film in the franchise. A colony ship deploys a vessel to explore an unknown planet; mission goes awry; mothership gets involved; crew dies, one by one. What is new and interesting, however, is the discussion you can have about artificial intelligence in this film. There are some decidedly "Ridley Scott" themes at work here, which are much more compelling than waiting to see which foolish scientist will perish next.
