Description

BABY DRIVER is a slick and seamless cinematic concoction.  Edgar Wright rises in the ranks as a director of action and curator of killer source music.  Wright choreographs car chases to a playlist of classic tracks, and substance is secondary.  The story is a well-worn tale of a wheelman taking on one last job before leaving the life and running away with his new flame.  But what makes it fun is Wright's ability to direct action that is always easy to follow (and the amazing stunt work is also great).  A poignant side note of Andrew and Phil's discussion is the realization that BABY DRIVER is an homage to a grittier and funkier time in the history of cinema (and big cities) that was more authentic and less of a brand than it is now.
