Andrew and Phil spar over the relative merits of this popcorn flick. Should there be more Jackie Chan? Does it really deserve its abysmal Metascore? The Foreigner was billed as a Jackie Chan movie, although he's overshadowed by Pierce Brosnan's prodigious turn as Liam Hennessey, the Irish government official with a checkered past. Phil wanted more Jackie, while Andrew contends that the martial arts legend simply doesn't have the energy to dazzle like he used to. But Chan is such a likable presence he could do almost anything and his fans would be pleased.
