Angelina Jolie plays the archetypal Disney villain in this reboot of the classic "Sleeping Beauty" story. Only she is a sort of anti-hero in this adaptation. Her motives are mixed, which causes her to be a character we are supposed to both root for and cry against. Sadly, the only crying you will do at this movie is probably for the loss of 97 minutes of your life that you will never be able to recover. This movie could have been good, with Angelina still in the main role and with a much-better script...alas, it did not happen this time. Andrew's comments sear the flesh! The special effects fail! Phil was bored by the same Disney tropes you see in most other films. All in all, this is not a recommendation to anyone. If you want to delve into the source material, you can't go wrong with the original animated classic from 1959.
