April O'Neil (Megan Fox) is an ambitious New York City reporter tired of covering puff pieces. She learns more about a crime wave sweeping the city and takes it upon herself to find out what's going on, with the hopes of getting a big story. Turns out the Shredder and his evil Foot Clan are terrorizing the citizens of the Big Apple and no one seems able to stop them. No one, that is, until the "heroes in a half-shell." April is spotted at a crime scene by the ninja turtles and later abducted to their lair, where she meets Splinter, a talking rat who has raised the mutant ninja turtles to become warriors. There's also a subplot about another villain who wishes to poison Manhattan and then get rich off of selling the antidote. This film won't win any awards for acting, or screenwriting, or directing...but if you sat down to watch a film called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" you pretty much know what you're in for.
