A rag-tag group of explorers delve deep into the catacombs beneath the city of Paris in order to recover the Philosopher's Stone, a legendary artifact that is rumored to grant eternal life. Scarlet, the leader of the group is a fearless historian who will stop at nothing to discover the secret of the underground system of tunnels, even if it means venturing into Hell itself. "As Above, So Below" is a tiresome found footage horror flick that starts off with a very protracted introduction that seems to take up half the length of the film. When the characters finally do get into the demonic nooks and crannys, the scares are lame and the plot even lamer. The whole film seems poorly conceived, right down to the narrative device of making everything filmed by cameras mounted to the characters heads. Ooh, it's a documentary! That makes it even more real and scary! In this case, not so much. Phil and Andrew did not like this film one bit.
