Lime and limpid green, a shroud, a second scene surrounds...wait, this isn't a Pink Floyd song, is it? Nope, it's Christopher Nolan's most ambitious film yet. Fresh off of his newfound artistic renaissance, Matthew McConaughey portrays Cooper, an ex-NASA pilot now a farmer with two kids. Earth is a dry, mostly agrarian environment and humans are on their way to extinction. Cooper stumbles upon an opportunity to fly into outer space, enter a wormhole near Saturn and investigate planets for possible colonization by Earthlings. All in the first hour! "Interstellar" has all the thrills of a summer blockbuster, with all the thematic ambition of an Oscar contender. Nevertheless, some of the "science" and "philosophy" of the film left Andrew with a bad taste in his mouth. Phil was more forgiving and was able to appreciate "Interstellar" for the fun ride it is.
