The luminous Marion Cotillard has "made it" in Hollywood yet continues to work in her native France as well as Belgium, in this case with the arthouse favorites Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. In "Two Days, One Night" Cotillard plays Sandra, a blue-collar worker recovering from sick leave pertaining to depression. She finds out her boss held a vote with her sixteen co-workers, the majority of which opted to get a generous bonus in exchange for her dismissal. Sandra must convince enough of her co-workers to change their vote in an upcoming secret ballot, or else she is terminated. This film is leisurely paced, which was a turn-off for Phil, but he loves Marion Cotillard and anyone else who does will delight in watching her turn in a fantastic performance. Andrew was enraptured by "Two Days, One Night" and the two podcasters have a wide-ranging discussion on social realism and reality in this notable film of 2014.
