Sweet chai.
🇬🇧 For this 16th episode (5th one in English) we had Bettina as our special guest. She is from Hungary but she has been living in Berlin for the last 8 years. We met Bettina because she was one of the women entrepreneurs of the last group we hosted in Agaete (Gran Canaria) during May-June 2023 under The Break Fellowship program.
We started talking about the sweet chai tea and the differences between the tea culture of Hungary vs Germany. Afterwards, we deep dived into the topic of globalization and how big multicultural cities like Barcelona, New York or Berlin are losing their authenticity and local charm. Some of the questions we tried to respond were: What is actually local culture? How do we preserve it? Are we all just becoming the same?
We ended the conversation discussing how much influence the media has over all of us, no matter whether you are in a big or in a small city. Most of us wear the same clothes, watch the same movies and read the same news. Hope you all enjoy this very interesting talk we had with Bettina as much as we did! 🙂

🇪🇸 Para este episodio 16 (el 5° en inglés) contamos con Bettina como invitada especial. Ella es de Hungría pero ha estado viviendo en Berlín durante los últimos 8 años. Bettina fue una de las mujeres emprendedoras del último grupo que recibimos en Agaete (Gran Canaria) durante mayo-junio de 2023 bajo el marco del programa The Break Fellowship.
Empezamos a hablar sobre el té chai dulce y la diferencia entre la cultura del té en Hungría y Alemania. Después profundizamos en la temática de la globalización y cómo grandes ciudades multiculturales como pueden ser Barcelona, Nueva York o Berlín están perdiendo su autenticidad y encanto local. Algunas de las preguntas que tratamos de responder fueron: ¿Qué es realmente la cultura local? ¿Cómo la conservamos? ¿Todos nos estamos convirtiendo en lo mismo?
Terminamos la conversación debatiendo sobre cuánta influencia tienen los medios de comunicación sobre todos nosotros, sin importar si estás en una ciudad grande o en una pequeña. La mayoría de nosotros usamos la misma ropa, vemos las mismas películas y leemos las mismas noticias. ¡Esperamos que disfruten de esta interesante charla que tuvimos con Bettina tanto como nosotros cuando la grabamos! 🙂
