Samova Team Spirit tea.

For our final English episode of 2024, we were thrilled to welcome Andreas Koch from Hamburg, Germany, as our special guest. While Elsa had known Andreas since 2022, they all met in person for the first time during the recent Pop-up Coliving experience by Pueblos Remotos in La Gomera this past October.

We began the conversation by diving into the inspiring story behind the organic tea company: Samova, founded by visionary women entrepreneur Esin Rager. Samova uses renewable and recyclable raw materials and maintains environmentally friendly, fair cultivation and production practices. We learned a lot about the meaning behind the tea blend name: “Team Spirit” and why it resonates deeply with Andreas for many reasons.

A major theme of our discussion was the power of storytelling in our lives. Did you know that people remember stories 22 times better than they remember facts alone? We shared some life-changing stories, like Andreas’s transformative trip to Cambodia and Elsa’s climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Gonzalo reflected on how the loss of important people in life can also lead to profound personal growth, emphasizing that each story—and every single day—shapes us. We aren’t the same people we were yesterday or even 5 or 10 years ago.

Our conversation wrapped up with some thought-provoking insights from Gonzalo, including quotes like: “Our stories are energy” and “Stories are made for and by people.” We also explored the difference between those who adopt a victim mentality, focusing on the negative, and those who are creators, who see life’s challenges as opportunities to improve the world.

If you enjoy hearing impactful stories, this episode is definitely for you! Are there any stories you’d like to share with us? Please let us know in the comments below—we’d love to hear how your experiences have shaped who you are! We truly hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it 😊
