Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of 1 Chronicles.
This is episode #01 Chapters 01 & 02.
1 Chronicles Chapter 1, the authors (who are believed to be Nehemiah and Ezra) present a list of names starting from the first man, Adam, all the way to the leaders of Edom. The main purpose of this chapter was to speak to all of the exiles who were God’s people.
1 Chronicles Chapter 2, is a listing of the names of the sons of Israel, also known as Jacob. These are the sons who will figure prominently in the story of Joseph, who was Jacob’s favorite son and sold by one of his half-brothers into slavery in Egypt.
