Description

Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of 2 Samuel.

This is episode #03 chapters 05 & 06.

2 Samuel Chapter 5, Haggai and Zechariah offered a prophecy to their followers. As they met with their followers, it was noted that Zerubbabel would contribute to rebuilding the house of God in the city of Jerusalem. A governor named Tattenai would then go to Zerubbabel and ask him who gave him permission to build such a house. The inquiry he made also prompted a letter to King Darius.

2 Samuel Chapter 6, King Darius had issued a decree about Jerusalem’s temple of God. The temple was to be rebuilt so sacrifices could be made. It was to be 60 cubits high, 60 cubits wide, have three large stone courses and one made from timbers. It was to be paid for from the royal treasury. The silver and gold items for this house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken, should be delivered to their rightful places at the temple.
