Description

Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of Joshua.

This is episode #12 chapters 23 & 24.

Joshua Chapter 23, the Book of Joshua does not openly name its author. But Joshua, the successor of Moses as a leader over Israel, wrote much of the book. The last parts of this book were penned by at least another person after Joshua died. In Joshua 23, the land is at rest and Joshua is now old. Joshua therefore begins to tidy up things before he goes, beginning with a recap of battle and finishing in the renewal of the covenant.

Joshua Chapter 24, Joshua, the leader of the Israelites, calls all the tribes to Shechem, a Canaanite city. He calls all the elders and other leaders of the Israelites and reminds the people that before they had conquered the land of Canaan, their forefathers had lived on the other side of the flood and had worshipped pagan gods.
