Sometimes we can convince ourselves that Jesus’ teaching is all about being nice and compliant in life. But niceness and compliance is rarely the way of love! In our next passage in the book of Luke Jesus outlines the cost of being a disciple; to give up all that we have, pick up our cross and follow Him. Challenging words! What does Jesus mean when He says we are to ‘give up’ all that we have? Why does Jesus say these things? And what does this look like for us today?
