In Part 1 of Unravelling (Unravelling Culture) we are analysing not only what we think in our culture, but why we think what we think. In order to do this, we need to examine the stories that we tell one another – because the stories we tell shape the way we see the world.
Our contemporary culture claims that our identity – who we really are – is something that we get to choose, shape and define based on the way we think and feel about ourselves. This video explores how that story (which is now taken to be ‘common sense’) has its roots in the Enlightenment and represents a very particular worldview based on atheistic assumptions.
