Heila Update (for 2023): (I'm) Still Here
A heartfelt message from me, after a long time away (for
unexplained, but important reasons) from the podcast. Re-visiting the impetus behind this effort and the importance of having and publicizing these conversations. The vital function of talking soul-to-soul and heart-to-heart; and the way having more of these kinds of conversations – about gender roles, inequality, the light of truth, and increased freedom in relationships - can change the world. Your engagement in this process is part of the whole.
I mention TV shows below which contribute to ongoing societal conversations we’re collectively having about these and related subjects – and which include the all-important humor element. All forms of art (including television and poetry) can provide crucial life insight.
I end with this poem by Edith Södergran:
Forest Lake
I was alone on a sunny shore
by the forest’s pale blue lake,
in the sky floated a single cloud
and on the water a single isle.
The ripe sweetness of summer dripped
in beads from every tree
and straight into my opened heart
a tiny drop ran down.
