Comparative Adjectives - when we are comparing two things, often uses a 'than' in the sentence.
If the adjective has one or two syllables then just add ER
Big > Bigger
Happy > Happier
If it has three syllables then add more and NO ER
Beautiful > More beautiful
Examples:
That house is bigger than mine.
She is happier than her sister.
That dog is more beautiful than mine.
Superlative Adjectives - when considering the a group of things the lowest or highest end of that group.
If the adjective has one or two syllables then just add ER
Big > Biggest
Happy > Happiest
If it has three syllables then add more and NO EST
Beautiful > Most beautiful
Examples:
That house is the biggest in this area.
She is the happiest person I've ever met!
Mine is the most beautiful dog in the world!
