Reverend Dr. Lula Mae Phillips works with Community Engagement & Research Component (CERC) for Weill Cornell Medicine Clinical & Translational Science Center. Cornell offers many programs to help the community through research. This is not just for seniors but for wellness in the community. Their outreach program uses current medical students to go out and teach different communnities about various medical conditions and treatments for the heart, colon, blood and even substance abuse and more.. They then examine the results which in turn will help to give better care to underserved communities.
Rev. Dr. Phillips is active in this process and reaches out to a Churches, Mosque, Synagogues and Senior centers all around the city. She shares her resources and her experience as a professional and as a member of the same communities she's engaging. Her information is straight and it encourages us to take our health seriously and challenge the healthcare industry to give us the best healthcare available .
