There's a lot of talk out there about "knowing your why” and the key to really knowing is to go deep. Understanding your “why” will impact anything – a career change, going for the promotion, adapting a healthier lifestyle, leveling up your communication, saving money – again this exercise applies to anything.

Your “why” will carry you through when you face obstacles along the way – obstacles such as:

· Loss of motivation

· Naysayers

· Limiting Beliefs

· Competing priorities

Just to name a few.

"I want to help people" is not enough to motivate you on your toughest days. Why is it important for you to help people? And why is that? And keep asking yourself why until that big giant epiphany whaps you in the head.   In fact, the "Own Your Why" exercise helps you get clear on any aspect of your life.

Want to get in better shape? "I want to get healthy" will not get you closer to your fitness goals.  Understanding your fear or passion around NOT being healthy - THIS will kick in when your motivation runs out.
