Gunnison County has a new Commissioner, Liz Smith, who was elected to replace John Messner. Messner retired from the position to accept a job with the state. New middle-income housing project, tentatively named "Paintbrush" is a 77-unit development projected being built in Gunnison by Gatesco. Gates is hopeful to be able to have residents in the property by February of 2021. Vail Resorts will discuss this fall on the winter plan for ski resorts and will be tentatively planning on a discussion with their shareholders at that time.
