Dave and I have a deep discussion about what it's really like living with secondary progressive MS. Dave opens up and shares how he was first diagnosed and how that affected his mental health, leading to depression and how strongman became a saving grace.
We also discuss what the pain of having MS is really like, how it affects everyday life, how the disease works and can in some peoples cases get worse.
About Dave Walsh
Dave Walsh joined the Army in 2003 at the age of 16. After 8 years of travelling the world and doing a tour in Iraq, he left the forces for a more stable family life with his wife and kids.
To adjust to civilian life he found strongman competitions and soon found himself competing in competitions all across the U.K. at a good level qualifying for Britain’s Strongest Man. However, in 2014 David was diagnosed with MS. In 2020 he came second in Worlds Strongest Disabled Man.
