If there's a character I think will live on in Cinema, it's Daniel Day Lewis's magnum opus performance as the power-hungry Oil Man Daniel Plainview from Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnum Opus, There Will Be Blood, a loose adaptation of the Upton Sinclair novel, Oil, which tackles American capitalism, the growth as a result of industrialization, religion, and what money can and can't buy. In the end, Plainview represents some of the best and worst traits of humanity, and that's why he's so hard to turn away from.
