Confession (agreeing with God) is Required for salvation (Acts 2:38, 3:19, 11:18, 1 Corinthians 7:10, 2 Timothy 2:25) and is an ongoing element of christian growth (Psalm 32:5, Psalm 51:2-3, Proverbs 28:13, 2 Corinthians 7:1). Today in 1 John 1:9, the listener will learn that forgiveness is a gift rooted in the character of God.
