Dead Space: Martyr is the first novel set in the Dead Space universe, written by popular fiction writer B. K. Evenson. Martyr was released on July 20, 2010. The book notably features lore elements that were abandoned and retconned shortly after its release, rendering parts of its story non-canon. It was also real good.
