In the first episode, we have Dan Lust from the USA. Dan is a practising attorney in the State of New York. He practices law in the matter related to Sports Law. He graduated from Fordham University, and later on, he joined Geragos & Geragos in their New York City office. Dan is also Sports Law Professor and a visiting faculty at the New York Law School where he takes the class for students who are pursuing law.
During his time at Fordham University, he was the President of Fordham’s Sports Law Forum. Also, he founded the National Basketball Negotiation Competition. Dan was also involved with a premier baseball agency where he assisted them in the Arbitration matter for the numerous MLB team.
Dan is also a Co-Host for the Conduct Detrimental Podcast with Dan Wallach. It was launched in 2016, this first-of-its-kind "Sports Law" podcast, is hosted by sports lawyers Dan Wallach, and Dan Lust for promoting sports law among the sports fan, attorneys, and the people who are working in Sports Industry.
In this episode, our host, Tushar Katheria, who is also the founder of Sports Law Sage, did discuss his journey in Sports Law, his experience as a Sports Attorney in the State of New York, how the US universities play a major role in promoting sports among their students, the books and materials which should be read by law students, how the Conduct Detrimental started as a Podcast & now as a one access website for Sports Law, and how Social Media become important for the lawyers after this Pandemic.
