Family,
Despite what was taught to us in grade school, the North wasn't some racist-free safe haven for black people during slavery. Furthermore, there were several Sundown Towns scattered throughout what is known as the North. And, when it comes to contemporary racist policies, laws like stop and frisk originated in the North.
In this edition of the Poethnic Justice Podcast, we challenge the conventional history about the true social nature of the northern states and how, in many ways, those subtle, systemic anti-black enactments have been more chronically detrimental than what the South imposed.
One Love & One Justice,
The Stormy Poet
