Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  With most of us doing our movie watching at home these days…what can you do to make the experience better?  The Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip combined with the Hue Play box creates a surprisingly big difference…making movies and everything else you watch more immersive.  The lightstrip easily attaches to the back of a TV…and the Hue Play system becomes an HDMI middle man of sorts to sync the colors of the lightstrip to what is on the screen.  So a sunset will glow on the wall or an open field will bathe the room in green.  Philips Hue technology head George Yianni says the breakthrough here is the gradient capability..

“What it means is that a single product is able to reproduce multiple colors at the same time.”

The results are beautiful.  Pricing for the Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip starts at about two hundred dollars…and is dependent on the screen size.
