Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  The comet Neowise has been putting on a show in the night skies this month….and it is easy to come away with some fun photos..no telescope necessary.  Princeton University Professor and astrophotographer Bob Vanderbei…says what you need is a camera and a tripod…

“The tripod has to be nice and sturdy and stable.  And then you take a ten second exposure…and I took several.  I took more than a hundred I think over the course of twenty minutes.  And then figure out which one’s the best.  That’s one of the tricks of the trade.”

You can check out a video version of our interview …complete with some of Bob’s spectacular images….on our Web site.  And head to Vanderbei.princeton.edu/images for more.  Bob by the way, is co author of the National Geographic book Sizing Up the Universe.
