Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. What’s Hidden Inside Planets is the name of a new book from Johns Hopkins University Press…and it is a fascinating look at what you could call the inner workings of planets and some interesting facts. Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Distinguished Professor Sabine Stanley is the author. Her inspiration?

“I actually grew up in a giant crater. So a meteor impacted the surface of the earth 1.8 billion years ago in a town that’s now called Sudbury, Ontario, Canada… and created this giant hole which allowed a lot of natural metal resources to come up from the deep interior of the earth. So I was sort of in this environment that just screamed planetary science from a very young age.”

And she was listening. There’s lots of science here…but also some humor. The title again…What’s Hidden Inside Planets.
