And one of those things is the use of technology to allow musicians and budding musicians to practice brass instruments, hear themselves at full volume, without disturbing others even in the same room. We’ve tested Yamaha’s Silent Brass…the trombone version….with a young musician and …wow! What looks like a standard mute has a pickup that connects to the small Silent Brass controller. Headphones are plugged into it for the musician…and this trumpet clip from Yamaha’s web site shows you what they hear….
