The season is finally over, but nothing ever ends so we look ahead to the potential transfer market dealings, the Maguire situation, the new Champions League format and of course we discuss Bayern's 1-0 win over PSG on Sunday night. Oh, and what's this about Messi??
Part 1
Well that’s a wrap. It’s been a season like no other, but we can finally wave goodbye to the 2019/20 campaign. The next one is just around the corner… what’s that… Ligue 1’s already started… oh no…
Hello and welcome to the Total Football podcast. I am your host, Declan Harte, and joining me is Andrew Conway
Andrew, how will we reflect on this season in the years to come?
Part 2
Bayern Munich are this year’s Champions League winners. They won their sixth European Cup beating PSG 1-0 in the final. Are they Europe’s best team?
And what of PSG? This was their first final, will they win this thing sooner rather than later?
Part 3
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, UEFA had to find other solutions to conclude this year’s Champions League. They ditched the two-leg format, they ditched the Istanbul final and they held the whole thing in Lisbon over the course of a two week period. But how did the experiment go? Is this new format starting European football right in the face, or was this a reminder of the beauty of a two-legged affair?
Part 4
We’ll close out the show by looking at the latest rumours and reports in the transfer window.
We have to start with Chelsea, buying three new players this week apparently.
Arsenal are also making moves, Gabriel joining from Lille for 20 something million
Thiago’s future is up in the air, how would he fit into this Liverpool team?
