Description

Now you might think that the US Open has absolutely nothing to do with football, and normally you’d be right. However, this year, for the first time, the competition was only available to viewers in the UK & Ireland via Amazon. No longer on traditional TV, it was a testing ground for what streaming services can bring to sport. How this relates to football specifically then, is the fact that Amazon have snapped up Premier League streaming rights for the 2019/20 season on a 3 season deal. Is this the future of sports broadcasting? Also, in the last few weeks of club football, provider Eleven Sports have been skirting the UK’s 3pm football blackout rule. We also look at the way Premier League football is structured. Are 3pm kick offs soon to be a relic of the past? We are delighted to close out the show by welcoming back club football. Will Mourinho bring Sarri down to his level or is this the end for his Manchester United reign? Have Tottenham ran themselves into the ground? And will Thierry Henry make for an exciting appointment as manager at Monaco?
