The North London Derby, over the last ten years, has arguably become one of the Premier League’s finest fixtures. There’s been goals, red cards, handbags, penalties, Mike Dean and big 6-point swings. This weekend’s meeting between the local rivals at the Emirates certainly lived up to expectations… The Euro 2020 qualifying draw was made. Ireland meet teams they know pretty well, avoided Netherlands and Germany. Mark Hughes has been sacked after the disappointment of only drawing 2-2 with Manchester United Jurgen Klopp has been charged with misconduct for his celebration in a late 1-0 victory over local rivals Everton. What a bizarre goal to win it for them. It was announced earlier today that VAR would be ‘fast tracked’ into the Champions League knockout stages a year earlier than initially planned. The Summer is often a time clubs use to change, to seek out alternatives or to start fresh. Last Summer, 4 clubs chose such a path. Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and West Ham. Out with the old and in with the new. We are now a third of the way through the season and the frantic, festive period is fast approaching so no time like the present to review how the new men in charge have gotten on in their first few months on the job.
