As we prepare for Premier League football to come back soon, get ready by remembering where we left off before the break!

Part 1

We’re now a quarter of the way through the Premier League season and they say the table doesn’t lie. But currently the table doesn’t read like how many people would’ve predicted it to.

Hello and welcome to the Total Football podcast. I am your host Declan Harte and joining me once again is Andrew Conway.

Andrew, does the table lie?

Part 2

Liverpool's 17 game winning run in the league came to an end with a pretty flat 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. Probably the best way they could’ve dropped points, frankly.

Quite a week in La Liga, as the first Clasico of the season has been postponed, another fixture was announced to be played in America, and the league lead changed hands once again.

The Bundesliga remains tight as ever, with only 2 points separating 1st and 9th. Borussia Monchengladbach are on top, despite a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

It’s been a sorry and sad week in English football. Between the English national team having suffered horrible racist abuse during their 6-0 win against Bulgaria on Monday, and an FA Cup qualifying game having to be abandoned because of racist abuse. Racism has no place in football, no place in society.

Part 3

Mauricio Pochettino led his side out to the iconic Champions League music last June in Madrid, only 4 months ago. Now, his side lie 7th in the table having only won 2 of their last 5 games. Tottenham are 13 points off league leaders Liverpool after only 9 games, key players like Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld are out of contract at the end of the season and other key players like Dele Alli and Harry Kane aren’t performing like they used to. Has Pochettino’s time at Tottenham come to a natural conclusion or will he be able to revitalise the club once more?

Part 4

It’s the rematch of last season’s Champions League final. Can Liverpool get back to winning ways immediately, or will Tottenham avenge their defeat in Madrid last June?
