Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Andy Hendel is a graduate of NC State (1983) where he played football from 1979 to 1983. He continued his football career in the NFL, playing for Jacksonville and the Miami Dolphins from 1984 to 1987. After retiring from professional football, Andy went on to coach high school and college football between 1990 and 2006. In 2006, Andy discovered his passion for CrossFit and opened CF Charlotte, where he's been coaching ever since. He boasts an impressive CrossFit resume, placing 6th overall in the 55-59 age group at the 2016 CrossFit Games and serving as a member of the seminar staff.On a personal note, Andy has been married to his wife, Dina, for 35 years, and together they have two children, Spencer and Andee Hendel, as well as four grandchildren, Reagan, Bear, Noah, and Junah.
