S1E5: In this two part episode, we talk about POC representation in Western literature.
This is merely the start of an important conversation, and our discussion revolves around the trends we have seen around POC characters, the questions we have for POC and non-POC authors alike, and our hopes for the future of POC representation.
In Part 2, we discuss the limits of POC representation by POC authors that we currently see. We talk about the power of books and characters to perpetuate negative stereotypes about minority cultures, writing for the white gaze versus the POC gaze, and end by talking about our all time favourite POC characters.
