I recently attended a Justice and Safety Challenge workshop in San Francisco. Representatives from various criminal justice agencies and service providers came to discuss the connection between mental health, substance abuse, homelessness, and criminal justice. Although there was a lot of knowledge and expertise in the room, these issues cannot truly be addressed without looking at our economical system.
