This week, I speak with a charming Twelve year old debut author, who shares her story of being bullied at school through a novel to let kids know that if they’ve been bullied, they are not alone. Grab your favorite beverage and take a seat at our virtual table.
Jayomi Douglas is a12-year-old author born in New Jersey who started school at 2 1/2 years old. She excels in all subjects but her strongest subject has always been reading.
Jayomi’s featured book is entitled Misfit.
Description: “The Misfit” is a story close to Jayomi Douglas's heart because it’s very similar to her reality. The book talks about a 10-year-old girl named Hope who is experiencing bullying at her school and at home by her older sister. As the author says “It’s unique because although Hope is a character I created, Hope is me, Hope could be you, Hope symbolized that light at the end of the tunnel”.
