Recovery. This word is thrown around like a beach ball at a Phish concert, but very few seem to fully grasp how to do it best. Compression stalkings, high-tech compression boots, ice baths, and loads of antioxidant rich foods seem to lead the charge in the world of recovery for endurance athletes. On the training side, recovery seems to always mean dropping out all intensity, dialing back the days per week you train, and even just taking a week off.....but all of the above miss the bullseye, and in fact, are only on the outer rings of the target.
