What would you do if something you really enjoyed was making you depressed, insecure, or overweight?

What if this thing was also causing you to lose sleep? You'd probably say that you'd most certainly quit something so potentially detrimental to your mental health and physical well-being regardless of how much you enjoyed it right? Well, what if we told you this 'thing' was social media?

Approximately 77 % of all Americans have a social media profile of some kind. Studies have linked the use of social media to depression, anxiety, poorer sleep quality, lower self-esteem, inattention, and hyperactivity — often in teens and adolescents. This week the Intellects discuss the potential negative impact social media can have on our day to day lives and potential solutions to help combat some of the symptoms.

Also, tragedy strikes in Fort Worth, Texas as an innocent victim is killed by a police officer in her own home. Will justice be served this time?

Plus, Tekashi 69 gets a 10 million dollar deal from prison, Cuba Gooding Jr gets accused of 14 counts of sexual misconduct, Lebron James catches flack for his comments about Daryl Morey being 'misinformed' on his Hong Kong protests tweet, and Gina Rodriguez uses the N-word.
